CITY BAKER SOLD TO H.L. HARTLEY
A deal was consummated last Thursday whereby H.L. Hartley became the owner of the City Bakery, having purchased same from T.J. Roach.
Mr. Hartley, whose home was formerly in Ennis, is not a stranger to the people here, as he was employed for a period of 2 years, until a short time ago, in the bakery of which he is now the proprietor.  He is a capable young man, has had 6 years experience in bakeing, and will doubtless make a success of this venture.
Mr. Hartley states that he will continue the business policies of the former owner, making only a few minor changes in the mechanical department.
The City Bakery has been a Van Alstyne institution for a number of years, and at the present time is equipped as well as any modern bakery in towns of this size.  In addition to supplying the city of Van Alstyne with bakery products, a truck is loaded each day and goes to McKinney, Anna, Melissa, Howe, and Tom Bean.
