PILOT GROVE NEWS
Playing baseball was the pastime here last week.  Wednesday 2 games were played.  Whitewright winning over Pilot Grove 8 to 6 and Pilot Grove won over Cannon 8 to 5.  Friday Desert won over Pilot Grove 12 to 6.  The last game was played on the new ball ground on the Judd Addition.
Mrs. J.M. Farr of Sherman is visiting W.D. Farr's family this week.  Little Miss Venita Farr is visiting her grandparents at Donner.
Mrs. Gus Viser of Tom Bean visited her parents and other relatives here last week.
Miss Alma Sloan entertained a few friends Sunday with a 6 o'clock dinner.
Misses Mae Thrift and Roberta Sloan, from C.I.A. at Denton, spent the week end with their parents.
The I.O.O.F. of Pilot Grove visited the I.O.O.F's at Gunter last Monday night.  They were royally entertained and promised an early visit from the Gunter Odd Fellows.
F.M. Sloan has another truck on the road.  This new one will make all the little towns and country stores collecting produce.  We are sure it will be a success by the business it has already done in the few days it has been out.
Mrs. and Mrs. S.F. Garland and Mr. and Mrs. A.K. Sparks spent Sunday in Sherman with their sister-in-law, Mrs. Minnie Ashinhurst, who was operated on last Sunday.
Mrs. Bertha Cameron who has been visiting relatives here the past week, has returned to her home in Oklahoma.
Bryan Birt who is just back from U.S. service is now in the drug store of his brother, Dr. J.B. Birt.  We are glad to have this young man with us.
S.A. Lowe spent Sunday in Sherman.
Miss Mamye Butt entertained her friends Friday.  Cake and chocolate were served.
Miss Kate Russell is spending the week in Dallas as delegate of the Woodmen Circle.
R.C. Hayle left Sunday for Oklahoma City to attend school and perfect himself to his profession.
Most of our good singers attended the singing at Tom Bean Sunday afternoon.
