POSTOFFICES OF GRAYSON COUNTY 1845 - 1969 From: East Texas --- Its History and Its Markers, Volume II, P. 251 and 931. The
first bank, postoffice and church of Sherman, Grayson County was under
an old pecan tree. A coat was hung on the pecan tree and the pockets
were used for mail or money. Nothing was ever stolen from it. Grayson County was organized in 1846.
