Charles Leroy Hansen


Charles Leroy Hansen, b February 2, 1924 - a son of Christopher Charles and Hulda (Gummelt) Hansen, was married to Jocelyn Rueter, b September 19, 1926 at Rosenthal- a daughter of W. H. Rueter and his wife, Ella (Stalbaum) Rueter.

Charles served in World War II in the U.S. Army from December 7, 1944 to August 8, 1946 in the Philippine Islands. He was discharged as a Staff Sergeant from the 85th Quartermaster Depot Company.

Charles and Jocelyn farm in Falls and McLennan Counties. They rent and own a total of 1200 acres, raising grain sorghum, corn, wheat, and hay, and they also have cattle. They are active members of the Cottonwood Baptist Church, where Charles is a Deacon and Trustee. He is a director on the Federal Land Bank Board of Temple, Texas, member of McLennan County Farm Bureau, and treasurer for the Falls Baptist Association. Jocelyn is church clerk at the Cottonwood Baptist Church, secretary-treasurer of Falls W.M. U. Association, and is a fire commissioner of District II in Falls County, serving as the secretary-treasurer.

Charles and Jocelyn Hansen had four children:

Naomi Jo Hansen, b August 3, 1945 in Waco, McLennan County, Texas - married July 23,1966 to John Ray Zajicek. Naomi is a graduate of Lorena High School and received her B.S. degree in Education from Sam Houston University.

Charlotte Lee Hansen, b May 22, 1948 - married June 14, 1969 to Jerry Don Sadler. Charlotte is a graduate of Lorena High School and has a B. S. degree in education from Sam Houston University.

Arthur Wayne Hansen, b May 22, 1949 - married June 22, 1974 to Raye Lynn Keller. Arthur is a Lorena High School graduate, and has a B.S. degree in Agriculture from Sam Houston University.

Constance June Hansen, b January 27,1952, is a graduate of Lorena High School and has a B.S. degree in Education from Sam Houston University. She is not married.
