Ernest E. Green

Ernest E. Green, b April 14, 1883 in Alabama, d May 20, 1959 at Rosebud and buried there in Woodland Cemetery - was a son of Charles and Mary Elizabeth (Pike) Green of Alabama and Georgia, respectively.

In 1913, Ernest was married in Big Spring, Texas to a Miss Painter, b September 19, 1886 at Colorado Spring, d February 20, 1959 at Rosebud - a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel F. Painter.

After their marriage, the couple moved to Rose- bud, Falls County, Texas, where Ernest's brother, John Green, had already established the Green Mercantile, Grocery, and Hardware Business. They were joined later by two other brothers: H. L. Green, and A. N. Green; and the four called the business "Green Brothers." Later, the partnership was divided when H. L. and A. N. Green moved to Cameron, but John and Ernest Green continued the Rosebud operation.

Ernest was also the operator of the Mixrite Brokerage Company. He and Mrs. Green were members of the First Methodist Church, and she was also active in the United Daughters of the Confederate Chapter of Rosebud.

Their deaths occured only three months apart, and they were survived by two daughters: Mrs. W. F. Bailey, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Miss Ernestine Green, of Dallas, Texas.
