Reuben Alexander Brown

Reuben Alexander Brown, b September 20, 1866 in Falls County, Texas, d April 5, 1944 - was a son of Waller L. Brown, b November 12,1819 in Upson County, Georgia, d October 16, 1878, and his wife, Harriet (McKinley) Brown, b December 17,1824 in North Carolina, d July 25, 1900. Harriet was a daughter of Charles Carson McKinley, b October 12, 1797 in North Carolina, d November 13, 1860, and his wife, Nancy (Wallace) McKinley, b November 23, 1800 in North Carolina, d March 3, 1879. Charles Carson McKinley brought his family to Texas in the early spring of 1851- traveling in a wagon train; and his son-in-law, Waller L. Brown came at the same time with his family.

Reuben Alexander Brown married Queen Victoria Kay, b May 1, 1866 in Leesville, Louisiana, d October 12, 1929, and buried in Eutaw Cemetery.

They were the parents of nine children:
Lettie Lavinia Brown - died at age eight years.

Austin Grady Brown - married Lena Kennedy, and had six children: Willford L. Brown who married Irene Hunt and had Ronney Brown; Doris Brown who married R. L. Wilson, and had Howard Wayne Wilson; Ruth Brown who married Claud Sypert and had George, Jimmy, and Claudia Sue Sypert; Roland A. Brown who married Hazel Cagle, and was killed in action during World War II; Vermelle Brown who married Robert L. Payne, and had Robert L. Payne, Jr.; and Grady K. Brown.

Dovie Brown, who married Creed P. Curd, and had Virginia Victoria, Lucile, Florine, and Creed P. Curd, Jr.

Annie Nuel Brown - died in early childhood.

Eva Inez Brown - died in early childhood.

Homer Lee Brown - died in early childhood.

Mariah Victoria Brown - married first to John Leroy Criswell, and had Juanita Allene and Pauline Criswell; and married second to Ellie Wiggins, and had Frances Elizabeth, Charles Dudley, and Marjorie Olene Wiggins.

W. Travis Brown - married Estelle Lattner, and had Walter F. and Forrest Brown.

Boyce D. Brown - married Cordelia Coffey.

The McKinleys and the Browns are all buried near each other in the Eutaw Cemetery near Kosse, Limestone County, Texas.
