Manley Gilcrist Bray, Jr.

Manley Gilcrist Bray, Jr., b June 17,1909 in Chilton, Falls County, Texas - was a son of Manley Gilcrist and Willamae (Bryant) Bray. He graduated from Chilton High School, attended 4-C Business College, and worked as a bookkeeper for William Cameron Lumber Company.

On February 17,1941 in Hillsboro, Texas, Manley, Jr. married Dora Mozelle Wooley, b October 17,1919 near Golinda, Falls County, Texas - a daughter of Robert Henry Spencer Wooley (b February 28, 1890, d January 20, 1976) and his wife, Katie Frances (Brewington) Wooley (b October 2, 1897). Dora Mozelle attended schools at Satin, Golinda, and Chilton High School.

In June 1942, Manley, Jr. enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during World War II at Iwo Jima and Banika Islands in the 41st Medical Hospital, being discharged in November 1945 at the end of the war. Manley, Jr. and Dora Mozelle moved to Jal, New Mexico in 1946, and he was employed by the EI Paso Natural Gas Company in New Mexico in the accounting department until his retirement in 1974, when they moved back to Falls County, where they now live in Golinda. Dora Mozelle is a retired L. V. N.

Manley Gilcrist and Dora Mozelle (Wooley) Bray had two children:
Robert Manley Bray, b September 23,1947 in Lubbock, Texas, graduated from Jal, N. M. High School, attended Cisco Junior College on a football scholarship, then played football for SuI Ross. In 1971 in Hobbs, New Mexico, Robert Manley married Beth Waggner, and they have two children: Jeff David Bray, b September 8, 1970 in Eunice, New Mexico; and Robin D'An Bray, b September 30,1974 in Shamrock, Texas, where Robert Manley Bray is Area Superintendent for the I. M. C. Area Office.

Lynda Jean Bray, b March 1, 1951 in Kermit, Texas, graduated from Jal, New Mexico High School, and married in August 1969 to Kenneth F. Raybon, who works for EI Paso Exploration Company as a Production Foreman at Elk City, Oklahoma. They have two children: Kenneth Clay Raybon, b February 17, 1971 in Hobbs, New Mexico; and CariLyn Lavern Raybon, b September 29, 1975 in Shamrock, Texas.
