Major Valentine Bradshaw, Jr. (called "Brick"), b February 5, 1911 in Marlin, Falls County, Texas, d March 18, 1975 in Marlin and buried there in Calvary Cemetery - was a son of Major Valentine Bradshaw, Sr., b February 14, 1877 at Otto, Falls County, Texas, d July 29, 1948, and his wife, Sarah Frances ("Sadie" Cromwell) Bradshaw, b June 16, 1879 in Fort Worth, Texas, d June 8, 1964 and both buried in Calvary Cemetery by his parents, Madison Lafayette Bradshaw, b May 5, 1840, d May 5, 1926, and his wife, Mildred Matilda (Dougherty) Bradshaw, b June 10, 1848, d January 30, 1925. Madison Lafayette Bradshaw was a farmer, a veteran of the Confederate States Army during the Civil War, and from Weakly County, Tennessee. His son, Major Valentine Bradshaw, Sr., was associated with the First State Bank of Marlin, as its Vice President; and on December 27, 1933, he was kidnapped, along with Miss Andrew Peyton, by Blackie Thompson and Whitey Walker - infamous bank robbers, who held their captives all day, and who were later captured in Florida with some of the bank money they had stolen.

On June 21, 1936 in Marlin, Falls County, Texas, "Brick" was married to Lila Mae Steele, b November 22, 1912 at Stranger, Falls County, Texas, d July 4, 1966 in Marlin, and buried there in Calvary Cemetery - a daughter of William John and Tempa Ophelia (Watson) Steele, Sr.

Brick and Lila Mae were the parents of two children:
Major William Bradshaw, b February 2, 1940 in Marlin - married August 25, 1964 in LaGrange, Texas to Susan Robertson, b June 11, 1942 in La Grange. They have three children: Heather Ann Bradshaw, b February 11, 1968 in Baltimore, Maryland; Jennifer E. Bradshaw, b March 31, 1969 in Baltimore, Maryland; and Major Robertson Bradshaw, b July 2, 1972 in Houston, Harris County, Texas.

Bette Frances Bradshaw, b March 23, 1943 in Marlin, Falls County, Texas - married April 25, 1959 in Durant, Oklahoma to Stephen Stingley Goodman, III, b January 7,1939. They had two children: Stephen Stingley Goodman, IV, b January 27, 1960 in Marlin, Falls County, Texas who married June 4,1983 in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas to Karen Shaw; and Adam Lang Goodman, b September 3, 1961.
