Young Ewing Bone

Young Ewing Bone, b September 28, 1836 in Missouri, d December 21,1869 in Falls County, Texas and buried in Carolina Cemetery near Durango - was a son of Alfred S. and Rachel (Tiger) Bone, who came to Fannin County, Texas about 1846. Young married on June 10, 1858 in Fannin County to Sarah Rozell, who was killed by Indians in Hood County, Texas in October 1869 - just two months before Young, himself, died.

Young Ewing Bone enlisted in the Confederate States Army at Honey Grove, Texas on December 14, 1861, as a Private in Company C, Taylor's Regiment of Texas Mounted Rifles, 22nd Cavalry. He and Sarah had only one son, Alfred Greenberry Bone, b March 12, 1859 at Granbury, Texas, d March 11, 1940 near Lott in Falls County. He was reared after the age of ten years by his Uncle John Bone and Aunt Amanda, in Falls County.

Young and Sarah Bone also had three daughters. Of these, Lucy lived to maturity and married William N. Brooks and had one daughter, Kathy Brooks.
