William Yancy Atkins, b August 1, 1856 in Butler County, Alabama , d January 25, 1922 and buried in Powers Chapel Cemetery -- was a son of Dr. Joseph Warren Atkins, Sr. and his second wife, Lydia Elizabeth (Ferguson) Atkins . He immigrated with his parents, siblings and other relatives to Falls County, Texas ca 1873, where they settled on the west side of the county.

William Yancy Atkins was married ca 1877 to Lillie Kate Stillwell, b May 20, 1858 in Texas, d December 13, 1904 and buried in Powers Chapel Cemetery -- a daughter of Green Stillwell, b ca 1834 in Georgia and Elizabeth (Randolph) Stillwell , b 1833 in Texas.

W.Y. and Lillie Kate Stillwell farmed and raised livestock all their married lives and were the parents of five children:

Joseph Green Atkins, b October 12, 1878 in Falls County Texas , d February 1, 1902 in Fort Worth, Texas while loading cattle on a train. He married Willie Etta Scarborough , b February 14, 1880, d October 23, 1899 and buried in Powers Chapel Cemetery. -- a daughter of James L. and Sallie A. Scarborough, buried at Powers Chapel Cemetery. Joe G. and Willie had one child, Linnie Florence Atkins, b October 1899 , who married George Smith Buchanan.

Roy E. Atkins, b April 1883 -- no information.

Sarah Atkins, b January 1885, married Ike Clark.

Webb Atkins, b September 1886----no information.

After the death of ""Kate"" Stillwell Atkins, W. Y Atkins was married second to Betty Tarver of Rosebud, Texas; and they had several children.
