Claude Asher

Claude Asher, Sr. b in 1895 in Mount Judea, Arkansas, came to Falls County, Texas in 1897 when was two years old. In 1917, he married Dora Florence Fesperman, and they had three children:

Dorothy Louise Asher, who married James Marshall Arney, b December 15, 1917 in Linestone County, Texas --son of William Luther and Vera Vidella(McCoy)Arney, and had five children: James ("Jamie")Arney, Donald Arney, Karen Sue Arney, Victor Allen Arney, and Jenny Lynn Arney. James M. and Dorothy(Asher)Arney reside in Lott, Texas.

Shirley Ann Asher--married a Mr. West, a Justice of the Peace in Lott, Texas.

Clause Asher, Sr. was a veteran of World War I--leaving for overseas duty in France in 1918. While in the military service, Dora Florence(Fesperman)Asher worked for Bell Telephone Company. When Clause returned from the war, he because very active in the community from Lott--serving as City Secretary, City Marshall, and Mayor at different times. In 1946, he purchased Lott State Bank--retiring after some twenty years, and becoming a full-time rancher until his death in March 1984.
