William Adrian Alston

William Adrian Alston (called "Adrian"), b June 6, 1919 at Reagan, Falls County, Texas--was one of the three children of Malcolm Kenneth and Willie Rae(Matthews) Alston. Adrian's grandparents were Jink and Paloma(Kay) Alston, and his great grandfather, Henry Alston, b 1810 in New York, d 1877 at Blue Ridge, Falls County, Texas, came to Falls County from Montgomery County with his wife, Mary Elizabeth(McCaleb) Alston, in the mid-1850's.

Adrian was a graduate of Reagan High School, and served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.

On November 1, 1940 in Calvert, Robertson County, Texas was married to Frances Lucille Pool, b June 17, 1920 in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas--a daughter of Jonathan Edward Pool (called "Jack"), and his wife, Annie Laurene (Aycock) Pool. The Pool family were among the earliest American Settlers in the Mexican State of Coahuila, Mexico(Texas). Frances' grandparents were Robert Ray and Lula(Logue) Pool, and her pioneer great grandparents were Jonathan Cochran Pool and his second wife, Jemima (Crownover) Pool.

Adrian is employed in the Marlin Post Office, and the family lives in Marlin, where they have reared their seven children--including a pair of twins:

William Adrian Alston, Jr. b August 14, 1942--married January 4, 1964 to Mary Francis Sturdevant, and has Alice Kay Alston, b February 20, 1966
