       Services for Ruby V. Smith Washington, 39, of Marlin were held Saturday, March 14, 1998 at the Marlin Baptist Church.
       Mrs. Washington was born January 1, 1959 in Kosse to Albert and Minnie Lee Smith.  She died Wednesday, March 11, 1998 in Marlin.
       Mrs. Washington's education included Groesbeck High School, Baylor University and McLennon Community College.
       She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and Marlin Baptist.  She was employed as a nurse at Falls Community College.
       Survivors include her husband Darrell Washington of Marlin, one son Darrell, Jr. (Bootsy) of Marlin; six sisters, Alma Smith of Temple; Debra Washington of Marlin, Carolyn Wallace, Ella Smith and Helen Smith, all of Groesbeck, and Connie Lee of Beaumont, three brothers, David Smith and Roy Smith of Atlanta, Ga, and Clayton Smith of Denver, Colo.; two uncles and one aunt.
       Burial was at Shady Grove Cemetery.  The Rev. Waylos Sr. officiated.  Pallbearers were friends of the famiy.  Services were under the direction of Roberston Funeral Home.
