Joe Walts

     Joe Walts of Mart, a painter, died Thursday, November 25, 1993, at a local nursing home.  He was 81.

     Services were at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 27, at Littlepage Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Tim Watson officiating.  Burial was at Criswell Cemetery.

     Mr. Walts was born February 13, 1912, in Thornton.  He married Artie Cotten on July 7, 1947, in Groesbeck.  He was a member of First Baptist Church in Mart.

     Survivors include his wife; three sons, Joe Walts Jr. of San Antonio and Eugene Stone and Nelson Stone, both of Waco; three daughters Vernell Mills of Mart, Laverne Hefelfinger of Frankston and Laura Hefelfinger of New Caney; 22 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
