THOMAS B. WHORTON

Thomas B. Whorton, 84, of Houston died Thursday evening in a Marlin rest home.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Adams Funeral with the Rev. Averill Huffman officiating.  Burial was at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Mr. Whorton was born June 30, 1903, at Hubbard, a son of Thomas E. Whorton and Alma Sue Priddy Whorton.  He served in the U. S. Marines from 1925 to 1928.  On Oct. 21, 1933 he married to Wanda Hebbe at Marlin.  The couple had lived in Houston for many years where Mr. Whorton was a machinist for Ruska Instrument Co.  He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Glenn Edward Whorton of Houston; three daughters, Barbara Dodd and Patsy Durkin, both of Houston, and Dorothy Huffman of Dallas; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
