FUNERAL FOR MRS. STRAIT
HELD AT MART WEDNESDAY,
CRISWELL FAMILY RELATIVE

       Mrs. R. D. Strait, a lifetime resident of Mart, died in an Austin hospital Monday night at 8 o'clock.  Mrs. Strait had been in ill health for a number of years.  Her husband, the late R. D. Strait, died following an automobile accident three years ago.  She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Criswell, pioneer Mart residents, and lived her life on land owned by her father.
       Funeral services were held at the Mart Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Dr. C. A. Sutton, pastor.  Interment in Mart cemetery.
       Deceased is survived by a son, Robert, of Mart; a daughter, Mrs. F. J. Furstenburg of Brownsville; a sister, Mrs. W. H. Schneider of Mart; a niece, Mrs. Doyle Bishop of Austin; a nephew, Willard Criswell of Waco, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. J. V. Callan of Waco.
       Mrs. Strait was active in Mart's religious and civic circles for many years.
       Pallbearers:  Marrero Cross of Waco, Turner Criswell, Marcus Criswell, Herschel Criswell, Lloyd Eaves, all of Marlin, and Elsberry Criswell of Odds, cousins of deceased.

MRS. STRAIT BURIED

       Funeral services for Mrs. R. D. Strait, life-long resident of Mart, who died in an Austin hospital Monday night, were held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock in Mart.  Mrs. Strait had been in ill health for a number of years.
       Among survivors are a sister-in-law, Mrs. J. V. Callan and a nephew, Willard Criswell, both of Waco.
       Mrs. Strait was widow of the late R. D. Strait, who died following an automobile accident near Victoria three years ago.  She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Criswell, Mart pioneers.
       Other survivors are a son, Robert Strait of Mart; a daughter, Mrs. F. J. Furstenburg of Brownsville; a sister, Mrs. W. H. Schneider of Mart.
