Janet Stone



     MARLIN -- Janet J. Stone of Marlin passed away Tuesday April 22, 2003 at Marlin.  Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Adams Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Clement Gordon officiating.  Interment will be at Criswell Cemetery.  Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Adams Funeral Home.

     Janet was born on Dec. 1, 1940, in Marlin to James and Jewell Harlan Price.  Janet was raised by her aunt and uncle Jack and Agnes Harlan Richardson.  Janet graduated from Marlin High School in 1959 and from Four-C Business College in Nov. 1959.  On May 18, 1961, she married Aubrey Stone.  The couple operated a farm and ranch throughout their entire married life.  Janet also bred, raised and raced quarter horses.  Janet, serving as a farm loan officer, retired from USDA Farm Service Agency in July 2000 after 34 years of service.  She held several titles throughout her career and was the first USDA Farmers Administration County Office Assistant in the state of Texas to be promoted to County Loan Technician.

     Survivors include her husband, Aubrey Stone of Marlin; daughters, Kim Stone Sustaita and husband Billy of Dalhart and Donna Stone Scott and husband Jes of Marlin; granddaughters, Lilly and Talesha Sustaita of Dalhart; and grandson, Trevor Sustaita of Dalhart.

     Pallbearers will be Jeffery Brown, Michael Milnes, Robert Stone, Randel Brown, Gary Stone and Tom Stone.
