A. M. Stone



Mr. A. M. Stone died Sunday, March

27, at 8:45 am, at Cladmick's Mill

from a wound caused by accidental

discharge of a pistol.

Deceased was born in Scott County,

Miss. Dec 18, 1863; moved, to Texas

in 1888, and was married to Miss

Dony Taylor May 9, 1889, to which

union was born eleven children.

He is survived by two brothers, and

two sisters: H. L. of Goree and R.D

of Temple; Mrs. C. L. Battle of Stan-

ton and Mrs Savanna Walters of

Louisiana and ten children: C.D. of

Blevins, O. W. of Orange, H. L., A.

E., Mrs. Bessie Embry, Temple: E.

W., Alta, Clyde, Eugene and Culbert.

Deceased was a member of the

Methodist church, having become a

member of that church some twenty

years ago.

He was familiarly known by all

who knew him best as "Ab.Stone",

and he enjoyed the confidence and es-

teem of everyone who knew him. He

made his at Blevins, some few

miles east of Eddy, and reared a large

family there, all of whom enjoy the

respect and confidence of that com-

munity.

He was a good man, a true hus-

band, kind father and a highly es-

teemed citizen, and in his going away,

one of the best men has been called

to rest, and he will be missed by his

host of friends. His children may

well feel of the honor to emu-

late the example of their father; al-

ways honest and fair in his dealings,

yet simple and plain among men, al-

ways kind and true with his fellow-

man.

Funeral services will be conducted

by the Rev. Eugene B. Hawks, pastor

First Methodist Church, Temple, from

the family residence, at 2 o'clock this

afternoon: Interment at Hillcrest,

Temple.
