Lonie M. Steed

Lonie M. Steed, 85, of Baytown, Texas passed away October 30, 1999. Steed was born December 3, 1913 in Chilton, Texas.

He served with the 1st Calvary division in the south Pacific during WW2 and returned in 1945 to work for Exxon Chemical Co until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Augusta Winfield Steed and Bessie Lee Steed; a brother Augusta Ray Steed.

Surviving relatives are his wife, Alice "Dee" Steed of Baytown; sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Connie Steed of Houston, Texas and Arnold and Nicole Steed of Houston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law Mary and Bill Kouba of Fort Worth, Texas; sister Jo Ann Watts of West Columbia, Texas; brothers, Corry Steed of Austin, Texas and Garland Steed of Texas City, Texas; grandchildren, Daniel Kouba, Stephen Kouba, Theresa Kouba, Lori Kouba, Laura Steed and Cathryn Steed.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at Grace United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. at Chilton Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Navarre Funeral Home.

Note: Lonie M. Steed full name was Lonie Mose Steed. Lonie was the son of Augusta “Gus” Winfield & Bessie Lee (Adams) Steed; and brother of Jo Ann (Steed) Watts. Lonie, Augusta “Gus”, and Bessie are all buried in Chilton Cemetery, Chilton, Falls Co., Texas -jasw
