Emily Manora Reat Stallworth
July 15, 1909 - July 9, 2007

 

     Emily Manora Reat Stallworth passed to eternal rest on July 9, 2007 in Grapevine, Texas.

     She was born in Dime Box in Lee County on July 15, 1909 and graduated from Giddings High School. She moved to Marlin with her parents, the late Travis and Ada Reat, in 1930. She married Harry Stallworth in Marlin on May 26, 1935 and celebrated 52 years of marriage prior to his death in 1987.

     She received her undergraduate degree from Southwest State Teachers College, now Texas State University, and a graduate degree from Baylor University and taught in Marlin Public Schools for 40 years. She was a life long Presbyterian and member of the First Presbyterian Church of Marlin, where she was a member of the Session and active in the Women of the Church. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star and a served as a volunteer at the Falls County Community Hospital.

     She is survived by: a son, Willett and wife Connie of Fort Worth; daughter Leah and husband Jerry Jeffery of Grapevine; six grandchildren, Captain Jack and Kristina Stallworth of Goldsboro, NC; Angela and Fletcher Lea of Fort Worth; Scott and Denise Jeffery of Lewisville; Kevin and Cindy Jeffery of Irving; Laurie and Jimmy Beynon of Flower Mound; and Kyle and Donna Jeffery of McKinney. 15 great-grandchildren: Ellie and Vivian Stallworth; Britton and Jetta Lea; Chase and Cole Jeffery; Austin and Garrett Jeffery; Bayli and Preston Beynon; and, Tye, River, Link, Trip and Seven Jeffery.

     Emily was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and two sisters. Her remaining brother, Grover Reat resides in San Angelo.

     The funeral services were July 14 at the First Presbyterian Church of Marlin with Rev. David Thomas and Dr. Holly Mitchell officiating, burial at Hillcrest Cemetery.
