W. P. SHOTWELL HAD RESIDED
IN FALLS COUNTY FOR
FORTY-FOUR
YEARS.

 

     The funeral of W. P. Shotwell, aged 64 years, who died at a Temple hospital Monday, was held Wednesday with services conducted in the Baptist church at Cego, of which he was a member, by Rev. Chas. Clark, interment following in the cemetery at Cego.

 

     Born February 20, 1860, in Flatonia, Fayette county, Texas, Mr. Shotwell came to Falls county 44 years ago and during the last 25 or 30 years he had been engaged in the mercantile business at Cego. He was well known to many Falls county people.

 

     Surviving deceased are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. A. B. Wilson of Houston, and three sons, W. M. Shotwell of San Antonio, L. B. Shotwell of Dallas, and J. B. Shotwell of Cego.

 

     Active pall bearers were Dr. J. R. Knight, J. T. Hardcastle, W. J. Miller, W. A. McKee, Leonard McKee, and Ed Wittner; honorary, Dr. J. E. Martin, Louis Williams, F. J. Turner, Clarence Diamond, and Rueben Clark.
