Andrew Joe Greger

October 2. 1918 – June 8, 2009

 

     Services for Andrew Joe Greger, 90, of Westphalia, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Church of the Visitation in Westphalia with Rev. Walter Dhanwar officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Westphalia. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral in Rosebud.

     He died Monday, June 8, 2009, in a Temple nursing center.

     Mr. Greger was born Oct. 2, 1918 in Durango to George and Mary Dehmer Greger. He lived most of his life in the Westphalia area. He married Annie Rutschilling on Jan. 23, 1952. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from American Desk Mfg. in Temple.

     He was preceded in death by his wife on April 4,2002.

     Survivors include five sons, Bernard Greger of Seaton, Eugone Greger of Granger, Arthur Greger and Harold Greger, both of Westphalia, and Jerome Greger of Morgans Point; one daughter; Bernardine (Bernie) Reynolds of Moffat; two brothers, Tony Greger of Cleveland and Raymond Greger of Corpus Christi; three sisters, Bertha Pavelka of Marlin, Mary Helen Conners of Lott, and Alma Lena Roessler of West; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 15 step-great grandchildren; and 1 step-great great granddaughter.

     Memorials may be made to Westphalia Historical Society or to Lighthouse Hospice.
