Aged Minister Succumbs

AND FUNERALS THAN ANY

PREACHER IN

COUNTY

 

     Rev. G. G. Gibson, age 82, well known as a Baptist preacher in Falls county for about 45 years, died Friday at the of his son, Albert Gibson, and was buried with Masonic honors at Blevins Sunday afternoon.

 

     Deceased had lived in the Durango-Blevins sections during all these years and it was said he had “married more couples and preached more funerals” than any other minister in the county.

 

     He was twice married and is survived by three daughters, Mesdames Emma Broughton, Tom and B. B. Spurlock, and four sons, Luther, John, Albert and Charley Gibson
