J. B. Francis
Dies in Hospital

 

     J. B. Francis Jr., 75, of 2320 Homan died at 9:55 a.m. Monday in a local hospital.

 

     Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Wilkirson and Hatch Chapel, Rev. Hiram Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Rosemound Cemetery. Waco Lodge No. 92 AF&AM will conduct graveside services.

 

     He was a native of Falls County and moved to the Jones Prairie area as a child and was reared and educated there. He farmed in the Falls County area before coming to Waco and was associated with the VA hospital in Waco from 1937 until he retired in 1960. He was a veteran of World War I.

 

     He was a member of Waco Lodge No. 92 AF&AM and a member of the Brookview United Methodist Church where he was active in the Fisherman's Sunday school class.

 

     He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret McLennan of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Verna Bell Crook of Corsicana; a son, Carroll Francis of 9731 Timberview; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Clark of Tyler, Mrs. Virginia Wilkerson of Cameron; two brothers, J. T. Francis of Killeen and Wilburn Francis of Langston, N.H.; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
