Prof. John Fox was born in Bavaria, Germany, May 24, 1859, and died at Keene, Texas, June 8, 1915, at the age of 56 years and 14 days.

Showing an unusual talent for music, he took up the study of that art, with the result of graduating under of the famous old masters of music, Liszt, at an early age.

At the age of 23 he emigrated to the United States, landing at Baltimore in 1882, and after a few years' sojourn in different places finally settled in Cleburne, Texas, where he lived the remainder of his life, excepting the time of his sickness. During all of the time he has taught music with great success. He accepted the teachings of Seventh-day Adventists in 1911 and lived a devoted Christian life till death claimed him.
