Jack Rickard Ferguson

July 6, 1925 – November 27 2007

BEDFORD - Jack Rickard Ferguson died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007.

Graveside service: His family and friends will gather to celebrate his beautiful life at noon Friday in Powers Chapel Cemetery in Rosebud. Visitation: His family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Forest Ridge Funeral in Hurst.

Jack was born July 6, 1925, in Lott to Walter Earl Ferguson and Elsie Roberts Ferguson. Jack was a native of Falls County and graduated from Rosebud High School in 1943.

Within days he was on active duty and received the Navy equivalent of a sergeant's rating upon enlisting in the "Fighting Seabees." He spent most of his duty in the Pacific. His unit was attached to the 4th Marine Division and was discharged in 1946. He attended 4C Business College at night and worked in major appliance sales during the day. In the Dallas area he was recognized by his customers, his peers and his employees as the leader in every facet of the major appliance industry. All who knew him would describe him as a friendly, knowledgeable and helpful man who had uncompromising integrity and placed others' concerns before his own. He cared deeply for his family and friends. He was a master Mason and a member of the VFW, American Legion and DAV. Surely he was one of God's angels on earth.

To our departed Jack, all who knew you loved you and will truly miss you. May you rest in peace.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Larry Ferguson of Dallas and Dana Ferguson of Waco.

Ferguson and wife, Brenda, of Fort Worth; daughter, Connie Moreland and husband, Joe, of Hurst; grandchildren, Summer Guilliams, Lance and Taylor Ferguson and Shayna, Hayley and Whitney Moreland; four great-grandchildren; brother, Morgan Ferguson and wife, Doris, of Waco; sister, Naomi Ferguson of Waco; his special friend, Mildred Thompkins; and dear friends, Barbara and L.J.
