DEATH OF J. J. FULTON RESULT OF AUTO ACCIDENT

Friday evening, June 18th, at about 8:30 o'clock, Mr.J. J. Fulton died at his near Chilton.

He had been in bed two weeks, following an auto accident in which he was injured, but for the past few days he had been sitting up in bed, and was able to eat heartily. On the afternoon of his death he shaved himself, ate a hearty supper and was thought to be doing nicely, when suddenly he became worse, and died almost instantly. His sudden death was attributed to heart trouble, with which he had been afflicted for some time.

The body was laid to rest in the Carolina cemetery Sunday afternoon, in the presence of a large concourse of bereaved relatives and sorrowing friends, the funeral service being conducted by Rev. J. H. McClain, former pastor of the Baptist church here, assisted by Rev. M. B.Hays. The pallbears were: active--S.H. Maxey, J.W. Nelson, J. B. Landrum, J.C. Eakin, S. W. Gaines and J.R. Lockerd; and homorary---J.F. Hackett, Gordon Gaither, J. L. Sylvester, W.M. Shankle, J.W. Earls, W.E. Magee, J.W.Henslee, R.E. Hamilton, R. R. Temple, P.L. Jackson.

Mr. Fulton was 61 years of age, had resided in this community 39 years, and had long been a faithful and consistent member of the Baptist church here. He was a charter member of the woodmen Camp at this place, and was a valuable member of the order until his death.

As a true husband, a kind father, a faithful christian, a loyal citizen and a leader in the community, a good neighbor and friend to humanity, Mr. Fulton will be sadly missed.

He is survived by his wife, five sons, two daughters, and four brothers.
