STRANGER -Conrad Erskine of Stranger, a rancher, died Tuesday at his home. He was 79. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Stranger Methodist-Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Clement Gordon and Jimmy Phillips officiating. Burial will be at Stranger Cemetery. Mr. Erskine was born Oct. 7, 1913, in Stranger and married Florine Curd Senuta on July 24, 1953, in Marlin. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife;  three sons, Jan P. Senuta of Overland Park, Kan.,John C. Erskine II of Stranger and James S. Erskine of Waller; a daughter, Jane Toppert of Weatherford; a brother, James W. Erskine of Marlin; a  half-brother, Kenneth Erskine of Lakeland, Fla.; four half-sisters,  Dorothy Phillips of Waco, Bernadine Richetts of Lorena, Julia  Catherine Woodland of Nacogdoches and Elizabeth Blunch of Clute; and eight grandchildren. The family will receive visitors from 7 to 8 tonight at Adams Funeral in Marlin.
