Virginia Price Edens Memorial Fund Donations to Benefit Library

Family and friends of the late Virginia Price Edens have initiated a memorial fund for the Marlin Public Library in her honor.

The funds donated will be used to update the library collection, particularly in the area of non-fiction works.

Virginia Edens was born in Marlin, on January 23, 1943, the daughter of William A. Price Jr. and Lorene Barganier Price. She graduated from Marlin High School in 1962, and Baylor University in 1966. She married John Edens in Marlin in 1965.

Virginia was a dedicated teacher and lover of nature. She was a highly regarded ornithologist, being a valued member of ornithology groups in Denver, Colorado, and Miami, Florida. She also served as president of both the Four Corners Audubon Society and the San Juan County Archaeology Association while residing in Farmington, New Mexico.

Virginia died on October 20, 2005, after a valiant 15-month battle with ovarian cancer.
