     CRISWELL, MAMIE ELIZABETH DICKSON, loving wife, mother, grandmother, devoted public school teacher, and caring friend, passed away in Granbury, Texas. Mrs. Criswell was born in Limestone County, Texas on August 27, 1909 to William Allen Dickson and Mamie Foster Dickson who preceded her in death. Two brothers, Robert Earl Dickson and Allen Dickson, and one sister, Margaret Dickson also preceded her in death. She is survived by her younger sister, Dorothy Dickson White. Mrs. Criswell graduated from Baylor University in 1937. On August 20, 1939, she married her devoted husband of 48 years, John C. Criswell. Her teaching career covered a span of 33 years. After moving to Grand Prairie, Texas in 1945, she taught in the Grand Prairie School System from 1951-1971 receiving a life membership in P.T.A. in 1970. Mrs. Criswell was a long time member of Fairview Baptist Church where she served as General Secretary of Sunday School for many years. In later years, being a part of the Sunshiners brought many trips and joyful experiences as did her ministry to the homebound. Elizabeth is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Nell and Ron Canter of Kerrville; Bettye and Chuck Dahn of Granbury; four grandchildren, Christie Canter Small and husband Ed, Kyle Kimbrell, Kimberly Kimbrell, and Chris Canter and wife Anna; many nieces and nephews, and several brothers and sisters-in-law. She received the most wonderful and loving care by Dottie Lee, Rollo and Anne Philips, and Angela and Gary Roberts. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday April 7, 2004, at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral in Grand Prairie. Her life will be celebrated in a funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Fairview Baptist Church on Thursday, April 8, 2004. with burial to follow at Restland Memorial Park, Dallas.
