LAURA CONTELLA

April 10, 1911 - October 28, 2005

     Laura Contella, 94, entered into rest Friday, October 28, 2005, in Marlin. Rosary was recited Monday, October 31, 2005, at Adams Funeral Home. Mass of a Christian Burial was held Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Christopher Ferrer officiating. Burial followed in the Hillcrest cemetery.

     Laura was born April 10, 1911 in Louisiana to Norfrio and Rosalie Spedale Joia. She Married Paul Contella, and he preceded her in death in 1979.

     She enjoyed cooking, gardening, baby sitting and loved to visit with family and friends.

     Laura’s husband, parents, one brother and one sister preceded her in death.

     She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Vick and Bobbie Contella, of Eliot, Maine, Blondie and Susan Contella, Joe and Carolyn Contella, all of Marlin, Texas; daughter Lena and her husband Ted Holdbrook, of Chilton, Texas; one brother, Felix Joia, of Houston, Texas; one sister, Mary Peeler, of Marlin, Texas; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

     Adams Funeral in Marlin was in charge of arrangements.
