KEITH COLLIER
October 10, 1951 - March 4, 2006
On Saturday, March 4, 2006, Joe Keith Collier, 54,
died peacefully in his following a long battle with cancer.
Joe was born
October 10, 1951, in Marlin, the son of Melvin and Mildred Collier. He is preceded in death by his mother. His father still resides in Marlin. He graduated from Marlin High
School in 1970 where he participated in football and track.
After high
school, he attended Sam Houston University before joining the United States
Navy. He was assigned to the aircraft carrier
Saratoga and was proud to be a Vietnam veteran.
Joe is survived
by his father, Melvin Collier; his wife Katrina and son Zackary; brother Michael
Collier and his wife Joan, their daughter, Courtney, their son, Ryan; sister
Judy Torbett and her husband Mike, their children, daughter Leslie, and their
son Jon; sister Jennifer Dichard and her husband, Allen, their daughters, Sarah
and Carrie.
Joe, long ago,
made the decision that he wanted something positive to result from his death and
decided to donate his remains to the Texas A & M University Medical School so
they might utilize him for cancer research.
In lieu of
flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society or Odessy Health
Care of Temple.
