DR. CLYDE M. CAPERTON

     Services for Dr. Clyde M. Caperton, 74, of Bryan, who passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2005 in St. Joseph Regional Health Center, Bryan, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2005, at Hillier Funeral in Bryan. The Rev. Hugh Magers of St. Andrews Episcopal Church will officiate. Burial followed at Bryan City Cemetery.

     He was born in Marlin, the son of the late Cecil and Milton Caperton.  Dr. Caperton graduated valedictorian from Marlin High School in 1948, from The University of Texas at Austin and from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. Clyde was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church and was dedicated to his family. He loved bird watching, butterflies, ducks, gardening, and traveling. He enjoyed taking his wife to quilt shops. He was a bit of an amateur photographer who enjoyed taking pictures of Texas wild flowers. He loved his patients and his practices of 40 years as a Dermatologist. He was active in the Derm Society and was president of Brazos/Robertson County Medical Societies for two years. Dr. Caperton retired from his profession, and had lived in Bryan for the past 40 years. He also served in the U.S. Army.

     Many of Dr. Caperton's patients were from Marlin and the surrounding community.

     A son, Arnold Caperton, preceded him in death.

     Survivors include his wife, Sue Nan Caperton of Bryan; three sons and a daughter-in-law, C. Milton Caperton Jr. and Nathan W. Caperton, both of Bryan, and Michael D. and Paulette Caperton of Mexia; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Dennis Allen of College Station; a brother and sister-in-law, Bob Wayne and Sandy Caperton of Dallas; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Gordon Garrett of Stranger; and four grandchildren.
