Emil Behnke
Dies at Home;
Rites Pending

 

     Emil Behnke, 88, died at 8:40 p.m. Saturday in his at 1728 North Eleventh.

 

     Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Green Funeral in Rosebud.

 

     Mr. Behnke was born in Germany. He came to the United States when a small boy. He married Miss Helen Benthin in 1899. She died in 1939.

 

     Mr. Behnke had lived in the Cego community for 44 years before moving to Waco four years ago. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Cego Evangelical Church.

 

     Survivors include three sons, Max Behnke of Waco, Conrad Behnke of Cego and W. A. (Bill) Behnke of Eddy; three daughters, Mrs. O. F. Kunze of Otto, Mrs. Alex Gummelt and Mrs. Florence* Schramm, both of Waco; two brothers, Paul Behnke of Carmine and Gus Behnke of Brenham; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services
Set Today For
Emil Behnke

 

     Funeral services for Emil Behnke, 88, of 1728 North Eleventh Street will be at 2:30 p.m. today in the Evangelical Church at Cego. Rev. George Fuch* will officiate with burial in Cego Cemetery.

 

     Mr. Behnke died at 8:40 p.m. Saturday at his home.
