OBITUARIES

Sam Baty



     Sam Baty, 83, of Route 7 died Monday morning in a local hospital.

     Services were at 2:30 p.m. today at the Connally-Compton downtown chapel, Rev. Harvey McMurry officiating.  Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery in Marlin.

     Mr. Baty was born in Smith County.  He had lived in Waco the past 32 years.  He was a retired farmer and an army veteran of World War I.

     Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Annie Baty; five daughters, Mrs. James R. (Lois) Wiggs, Mrs. Billy J. (Pauline) Hargrove, Mrs. Walter Douglas (Nadine) Kent, Mrs. W. E. (Annie Lou) Stone and Mrs. James Lynn (Irene) Caddell, all of Waco; two sons, Johnny E. Baty of Austin and George Baty of Waco; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Steve Baty of Grand Prairie.

     Sam Baty, 83, of Route 7 Box 544 Waco died at 9:35 a.m. Monday in a local hospital.

     Funeral services:  2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Connally-Compton Downtown Chapel, Rev. Harvey McMurry officiating.  Graveside services:  4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Hillcrest Cemetery, Marlin, Tex.

     Survivors:  His wife, Mrs. Annie Baty; five daughters, Mrs. James R. (Lois) Wiggs, Mrs. Billy J. (Pauline) Hargrove, Mrs. Walter Douglas (Nadine) Kent, Mrs. W. E.      Active pallbearers:  Sam R. Wiggs, Walter D. Kent Jr., David Baty, James Baty, George Baty Jr., and Colin Lackamy.
