MAGGIE BARTON

MRS. S.J. BARTON DEAD

The friends of the family were deeply pained on Sunday afternoon by the announcement of the death of Mrs. Sam J. Barton.

Deceased had been ill for about three weeks but it was not generally known that her condition was serious.  Prior to her marriage she was Miss Maggie E. King, and leaves a large family connection.

The remains were interred in the cemetery this afternoon at 3 o’clock, services being conducted at the residence on Commerce Street.

A large concourse of friends and relatives followed the remains to their final resting place.  The pallbearers were Geo. E. Sanders, E. M. Eddins, T. J. Kemper, W. J. Freddie, G. L. Viridet and S. R. Hemphill.
