     Marlin---John V. Barton, 73, of Marlin, a retired city employee, died Sunday night in a local hospital.  Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Adams Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Lindsay Cofield and the Rev. A.A. Bratcher officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Barton was born March 29, 1909 in the McClanahan community of Falls County. He was married to Lucille Blassingame in 1933 and retired in 1973 after 45 years with the city of Marlin as director of public works. He was a member of McClanahan Baptist Church.  Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Johnnie Lou Creasy of Marlin; a sister, Mrs. J.H. (Mildred Walston) of Spring; and a granddaughter.
