Evangeline Helen Buzbee

October 12, 1931 - November 26, 2008

 

            Evangeline Helen Buzbee, 77, of South Houston, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, in Houston. Funeral service will be 12 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at Perry United Methodist Church in Riesel. Interment will follow at Perry Cemetery.

 

Evangeline was born Oct. 12, 1931,at the Shaw Clinic in Marlin. At the age of 16, she graduated from Marlin High School on May 31, 1948, she worked 30 years in the restaurant business. Evangeline was baptized, confirmed, married and now her final ritual in Perry United Methodist Church. Her and her late husband, Gus celebrated 53 years, 8 months and 4 days of married life together.

 

Evangeline was an avid doll collector, an excellent seamstress and creator of beautiful quilts.

 

She is survived by her son, Gussie Joe Buzbee Jr. and wife, Kelley;daughter, Beth Burrow and husband, Larry; granddaughter, Mia Buzbee; brother, Vernon Kampfhenkel; numerous nieces, nephews, brothers, and sisters-in-law and cousins; and a host of friends.
