W. M. BROWN DEAD.

       An Austin dispatch tells of the death of Ex-Comptroller W. M. Brown which occurred at midnight Saturday night at the Austin sanitarium where he had been taken that afternoon to have an operation performed.  The operation was performed but on account of his age he could not survive.  He was about 70 years of age and was comptroller of the state at one time.  He leaves a family.  He was employed in the comptroller's department until the time of his death.
       Deceased resided in Marlin at one time.
