H. O. Barganier received a telegram Tuesday morning announcing the death at Fort Deposit, Ala., of his father, H. H. Barganier, who was about 80 years of age. He had been ill for some time.

He had three sons and two daughters in this county, H. O. Barganier, and Mrs. T. H. Porterfield of Marlin, J. G. Barganier of Reagan, A. Barganier, Chilton, and Mrs. Dickens, Blue Ridge.

Hillary Herbert Barganier, b. 20 July 1834 at Fort Deposit, Lowndes Co., AL, d. 14 June 1915. He served in Co. D (formerly I) of the 60 Infantry Regiment of Hilliard's Legion formed in the spring of 1862 in Lowndes County. Hillary was wounded September 20, 1863, at the Battle of Chickamauga. Received Confederate Pension.
