FUNERAL SERVICES FOR
MARLIN BOY CONDUCTED

Child Claimed by Death After Illness
of About Ten Days'

B. C. Bratton, Jr., age 13 years, eight months and 26 days, died in
Marlin at 3:40 o'clock this morning.  Becoming ill 10 days ago, he underwent an operation last week for a sinus infection.  His condition had been critical since Sunday.

Born October 5, 1917, deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Bratton, Sr., of Marlin.  He was a graduate of the Marlin Elementary school, Class of 1931; a member of the Marlin school band and had been active in Boy Scout work.

Surviving deceased are his parents and a younger brother, Charles Bratton.

The funeral was announced for five o'clock this afternoon with last rites conducted in the funeral chapel, services being in charge of Rev. O. W. Hooperff, pastor of the First Methodist church, assisted by
Rev. S. D. Dollahite, pastor of the First Baptist church, and Rev. F. P. Goddard, pastor of St. John's Episcopal church.  Burial in Calvary cemetery.

Active pall bearers are J. C. Chatmas, Jr., Condy Nichols, Henry Baushausen, Neil Buie, Blake Bailey, Ben Rice, Jr., Jack Chilton and C. T. Denard, while all other boys who have been associated with deceased in teh band and scout work were designed as honorary pall bearers.
