A. Barganier Dies At Lott Monday
Alonzo Barganier, age 87, died at the family in Lott, at 10:45 a.m. Monday, January 29, 1951, following an illness of several days.
Mr. Barganier was prominently known as a pioneer Falls county land owner; farmer, rancher and stockman. He was born in Fort Deposit, Alabama, August 26, 1863.
Two brothers have been claimed by death within a week. Henry Oliver Barganier, age 89, of Marlin died here on January 23, 1951. H. O. Barganier was the first of several members of the Barganier family to move to Falls county when he arrived here in 1883. Alonzo Barganier, the second brother to come to Falls county arrived here two years later and settled at Lott where he has continued to make his throughout his lifetime. He had been active in community and civic affairs at Lott during his lifetime. His wife was formerly Miss Maud Rogers of Marlin, they were married here on December 27, 1903.
Funeral at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday from the Lott Presbyterian Church. Rev. C. T. Caldwell and Rev. Billy Newton officiating. Burial in Clover Hill Cemetery.
Surviving are his widow at Lott. Three daughters, Mrs. Dell Foster, Marlin; Mrs. R. M. Craig, Beaumont, and Mrs. Alton Chapman, Floydada. One son, James Barganier, Lott. Two brothers, J. G. Barganier, Marlin, and Will Barganier, Fort Deposit, Alabama. Three sisters, Mrs. Salome Dickens, and Mrs. T. H. Porterfield, Marlin, and Mrs. Correll Harris, Fort Deposit, Alabama. Also several grandchildren.

Lott, Jan 30 (Spl). - Alonzo Barganier, 87, pioneer farmer Stockman and landowner, died at his here Monday, one week after the death in Marlin of a brother, Henry Oliver Barganier, 89. Survivors are his wife, three daughters, a son two brothers and three sisters.
