OF BLEVENS DIES

BLEVENS (SPL) - Mrs. J. E. (Eff) Bowers, 85, of Blevens died Tuesday morning in an Austin hospital.

       Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Eddy Baptist Church, Rev. George Huey and Rev. Ronald Durham officiating.  Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Waco.

       Mrs. Bowers was born in Mississippi, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Horton. Her family came to Blevens when she was a child.  Mrs. Bowers was a member of the Eddy Baptist Church.  She had lived in Austin since 1969.  Mr. Bowers died June, 1973.

       Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Sybil Ellis of Burbank, Calif., and Mrs. Joe Jamar of Austin; two sisters, Mrs. Farra Hall and Mrs. Madeline Byars, both of Irving; and a brother, Ed M. Horton of Lancaster.
