W. J. Blackwell, an aged citizen of the Durango community, died at his on Deer Creek Thursday night.

He had resided in that section for many years and was highly respected by all who know him.

He was a Mason, being a member of Durango lodge. Was a Confederate soldier, having enlisted in Company K, Hardy's brigade of infantry in Arkansas. He leaves a number of relatives, among them are W.M. Anderson, Farmers and othes at Durango.

The remains will be interred in the Cego cemetery with Masonic honors.
