Here on McQueen Field this evening the BTW Wildcats will open the negro 2-AAA district race as they take on the double tough Kemp High Bears from Bryan in an 8 o'clock game.  The Wildcats are unbeaten so far.

A game that will draw a large number of Marlin football fans is the freshman clash at Baylor Stadium, Waco, this evening at 7:30 o'clock.  This game will pit two of last year's Marlin Bulldog backfield stars against each other.

Joe Jones now with the Baylor Cubs and who starred against the Texas Shorthorns last week, will be a Cub starter this evening at halfback.

Thomas Byer a fullback with the Aggie Fish team, while not listed on the first two Aggie Fish units, will likely see action against the Cubs.  The Aggie Fish have five units.  Byer has carried the ball four times for the Aggie Fish, gained 14 yards, for an average of 3.5 yards per carry.

~~~~~
Friday night the terrible West Trojans, unbeaten nad untied for the season will come to town for an 8 o'clock game in which they will try to ruin the Marlin Bulldogs' homecoming and in so doing win their third consecutive  District   17-AA game.
The Bulldogs have been working all week to find a way to trip the Trojans.  According to reports the Bulldogs had a good workout Monday, didn't look so good Tuesday but were back on the ball Wednesday.  The Bulldogs will have the usual lighter review drill today and then await the Friday homecoming bout in which they'll try for conference win number two.
Fullback Steve Palacios and tackle Joe Hardeman were the only doubtful starters at last report.
~~~~~

Coach Jim Holland and his Bulldog B team also have a date today at West.  They will meet the West B team as soon as the junior high game is over, which should be about 7:30 p.m.

Two of the Canine B's are on the doubtful list of starters and might not get to play at all.  Quarterback Jimmy Rogers who got a deep C shaped cot on the palm of his throwing hand in last week's game, won't be able to pass accurately if he plays.

Robert Nutt, a tackle that usually gets in considerable playing time, has an injured ankle.

Ricky Calhoun, a regulr end who has alternated at the Q.B. post, will be the man under if Rogers is out.
