                 MRS. B. R. SHELTON’S FATHER DIES EARLY SATURDAY AT

                                          BROWNWOOD, FUNERAL SUN.

 

L. E. Layne, age about 80, died at the family in Brownwood at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 1950, following a prolonged illness.  He was the father of Mrs. B. R. Shelton of Marlin.  Mr. and Mrs. Shelton were called to the bedside of the patient earlier in the week and were in Brownwood when death occurred.  Mr. Layne was a retired automobile agency dealer at Brownwood.

 

Funeral services at 2 p.m. Sunday in Brownwood.  Burial will be in the cemetery at Santa Anna.

Surviving are his widow at Brownwood.  A son, Elmore Layne, Fort Worth.  Three daughters, Mrs. B. R. Shelton, Marlin; Mrs. Wade C. Hampton, Dallas, and Mrs. E. P. Hadley of Palos Verdes, California.  Also 10 grandchildren and two great grandchidlren.
