President Appears on Program at
Negro Women's State Federation
Meet

Mrs. R. F. Lindsay of Mount Pleasant, president of the Texas Federation of Women's Clubs, was guest of honor at a dinner given by the City Federation of Women's Clubs of Marlin in the private dining of the Hilton hotel Wednesday evening.
Other out of town guests included in the 18 attending the affair were Mrs. J. L. Brock of Bryan, president of the fourth district of the Texas Federation of Women's Clubs; Miss Kate Friend, active in women's club work at Waco; Miss Mary Louise Allen of Washington, D. C., and Miss Katherine Roberts of San Antonio, the latter two being guests of relatives in Marlin.
The occasion of Mrs. Lindsay's visit to Marlin was to address the annual convention of the state federation of negro women's clubs in session here this week.  A number of those attending the dinner accompanied Mrs. Lindsay to the Marlin negro Baptist church where she spoke.  She was presented to delegates attending the convention by Mrs. Levi Goodrich, president of the City Federation of Women's Clubs of Marlin.
Appearing on the program also was Prof. Woods of Huntsville, interracial commission field worker, who discussed his activities after being introduced by Dr. N. D. Buie of Marlin.  Mrs. Brock, Miss Marjorie Rogers of Marlin and Miss Lois Souther, Falls county superintendent of schools, had made talks at the convention earlier in the day.
