DISTRICT PTA PRESIDENT
ATTENDS MARLIN MEETING
Brings Message From National Convention
and Installs Officers
Bringing a report on the national convention at Hot Springs, Ark., Mrs. John
Maxwell of Waco, 9th district president of Parent-Teacher Associations,
addressed the Marlin the Marlin (sic) organization at its last meeting of the
1930-31 school session. Mrs. Maxwell also installed officers of the Marlin
P.T.A.
Held in the music room of the Marlin
Elementary school building, the meeting was opened with prayer, reports from
officers following.
It was voted unanimously to subscribe a
life membership in the name of Miss Drusha Torbett, director of the primary
department of the Marlin public schools.
An entertaining program was presented
consisting of a piano number by Joe Tom Haney, a cornet selection by Jack
Chilton, a French horn number by F. W. Fink, Jr., and reading of a poem composed
by Mrs. F. W. Fink, Sr.
Adjournment was taken until September when
the first meeting of the 1931-32 school year will be held.
