'IT'S FUN TO PREPARE MEALS
WITH 4-H PANTRY

Canning Budget Has Been Completely Filled in
Demonstration at Otto

"It's fun to prepare meals now that we have our 4-H Pantry, "(sic) MIss Lennie Pittman of Otto.  Miss Pittman has been very interested in helping Mrs. Monte Leuschner to put on a real 4-H pantry demonstration for the Otto Demonstration Club.  Upon visiting the demonstration in August the demonstration agent found the canning budget had been completely filled and the pantry organized.  There were 775 containers of food on the shelves:  143 containers of leafy vegetables--including 8 of beet tops, 100 of corn; 57 of other vegetables; 195 of fruit--including juice; 100 of tomatoes; 102 of meats; 47 of pickles and relishes; and 31 of preserves and jellies.

Mrs. Leuschner has a good sized pantry with shelves arranged to allow storage space at the bottom of the pantry for her cooker, lard cans, vinegar jugs, and other big articles.  Mrs. Leuschner has checked her meals to assure herself that she is using her pantry to serve balanced and adequate meals to her family.
