Marlin Team Wins Finals
Of Girls Tennis Doubles

    Marlin High school's girls tennis doubles team composed of Evelyn Handelman and Lucile Rogers won over the Reagan High school team, Alline Alston and Dorothy Dilworth, in finals at Reagan Thursday afternoon.
    This was the second tennis event Marlin had captured in the 1931 Falls county interscholastic league meet, Sister Carter of Marlin having won the girls singles championship last week.
    Marlin High school's boy's doubles team moved into the finals Thursday by a semi-final victory over the Reagan high school team.  The Marlin players are Robert Whitaker and John Maxwell, while those for Reagan were Bruce Moore and Aldridge Chamberlain.
    As a result the marlin boys doubles team will meet the winner of a semi-final contest between Carson and J. G. Eakin of Chilton and W. D. Nicholson and Loy Wright of Rosebud.  Playing of this event was deferred, also the boys singles final between Jack Tubb of Marlin and
W. D. Nicholson of Rosebud until next week.
    So far, the Marlin High school netters hold an edge in the tournament with two events to their credit and chances at two more in the finals.
